Barry Pfeffer, (LCSW #120750)
Therapist | Licensed Clinical Social Worker, CA
Who I Work With
I work with adults, seniors, and adolescents who are navigating emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. In addition to supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, grief, caregiving stress, and the complexities of aging, I also work with teenagers and young adults experiencing ADHD, neurodivergent tendencies, autism spectrum disorders, and anxiety-related difficulties. My goal is to help clients develop insight, self-understanding, and tools for managing daily life with greater confidence and self-compassion.
How I Help
Compassionate, empathic, and solution-focused therapy for teens, adults, seniors, and families. Life’s changes—whether expected or sudden—can bring challenges that feel overwhelming. My approach is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I aim to create a space where you can explore what’s been weighing on you, gain a fresh perspective, and begin identifying more effective ways of coping with stress, loss, and life transitions.

About Me
Originally from New York, I bring a blend of East Coast energy and humor to my West Coast openness. As a parent of two young children, I understand firsthand the challenges of balancing life’s responsibilities while trying to stay grounded and emotionally well.
When I’m not working, I find joy in creative outlets – playing music, making art, crochet – and outdoor pursuits – hiking, camping, winter and summer activities. Creativity and movement help me stay connected to myself and the world around me.
I came to social work later in life, after years of personal and professional experiences that shaped how I understand resilience, struggle, and growth. My own relationship with mental wellness informs the compassion and authenticity I bring to my work. I believe that everyone has an innate ability to heal and that therapy can help uncover those strengths.
