Kelsey Gurley, (AMFT)

Therapist | Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

How I Help

While the “how” of work I do is tailored to each unique client through an eclectic practice that draws from a variety of theories and practices, my approach is always rooted in empathy, non-judgement, and empowerment. I work from a strengths-based foundation, embracing and building on the resources and tools you already possess. I truly believe that my clients are experts on themselves, and that informs the collaborative work we will do together. Whether you are brand new to therapy or returning to this work after some time away, choosing to take this step signifies a readiness that makes me excited to work with you. Together, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy, getting to the root of the issues you face with the ultimate goal of decreasing distress and becoming your most authentic self.

About Me

I’m a lifelong Californian, born and raised here in the Bay Area. I’m a mother of one amazing preteen who keeps life joyful and interesting. In my free time, I love reading, taking walks, traveling, cultivating playlists, and spending time with my family. I consider myself a life-long learner and I’m always searching for new ways to grow. I believe in showing up authentically in every room I step into, including the treatment room.

Long before I was an Associate MFT, I was the “therapist friend” and family mediator. I have always loved hearing people out, connecting them to ideas and tools, and finding mutual understanding through insight. When I found myself unfulfilled and ready for a career change, I knew it was time to pursue my purpose, which led me to this work. Walking alongside my clients through their journeys has been one of the most rewarding pursuits of my life.
