Claire McKeefry, (LPCC #18511)

Therapist | Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Who I Work With

I work with children (4+), teens, young adults, families, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially those who may experience self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or acting-out behaviors. My focus is on fostering a safe, supportive environment where clients can feel heard and understood. I guide clients through challenges related to depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, ADHD, autism, bipolar, and trauma, using trauma-informed care practices to promote healing and resilience.

How I Help

My approach emphasizes safety, empowerment, and respect for each individual’s unique journey. I integrate trauma-informed care to create a space that acknowledges and honors the impact of past experiences, ensuring that healing can happen at a pace that feels safe for each client. Additionally, I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance. Talk therapy fosters open communication and self-reflection, while play therapy techniques help younger clients express and process difficult emotions. All of this is done within a compassionate, non-judgmental space, helping clients navigate complex day-to-day struggles.

About Me

I have a background in community mental health and play therapy, where I had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals and demographics. In my community mental health work, I provided crisis intervention, as well as family and individual therapy, helping people navigate some of their most challenging moments. I was called to become a therapist based on my own personal experiences, and I am deeply passionate about creating a safe space where individuals can feel comfortable being themselves and embark on a journey of growth.
In my personal life, I enjoy relaxing with my five cats, exploring aquariums, and spending time with my tight-knit group of friends over boba. I believe in fostering genuine connections, both in my professional and personal life, and am committed to providing a warm and compassionate environment for those I work with.
